Speech to Text technology as a computer-aided interpreting tool

ABSTRACT: In this talk a methodology which aims to satisfy specific
needs of both professional and trainee interpreters by means of
Speech-to-Text (S2T) technology will be introduced. The outcome of
such methodology entails many benefits: time saving, terminology
extraction (TE), creation of ad hoc corpus from spoken speeches,
preparation and documentation aid, etc. By the way of illustration for
the experiment results, the method to compile an ad hoc corpus and
extract the terminology from several spoken speeches by means of S2T
technology will be described. Evaluation figures of the used ASR tools
will be presented.
